i have to maintain a sense of hope for the future so i don’t kill myself, however, with that being said, the way forward is increasingly looking like violent standoffs between the arms of the state, and the people willing to put their bodies in the way of the machinations of repression. this conflict however, will only help the state in its mission to expand control, and technological legibility, by way of increased surveillance and repression.

compounding anger over a suite of issues tends to manifest as a relinquishing of organized structure in favor of decentralized chaos, facilitated under the assumption that our shared frustration with the state will result in a productive overturning of the status quo. this assumption is patently false—contradictions paired with a failure to counteract the efficacy of state infrastructure is a recipe for defeat. a lack of fluid coordination and consensus building makes it impossible for coherent demands to be made. this is a common shorcoming among leftist circles.

i think the nypd tends to take a neutral but intimidating position during times of protest, or direct action. this methodized approach to de-escelation seems to continually reproduce the conditions for a stalemate and eventual dispersion as opposed to a full on riot.

this assures, of course, that nothing ever happens.
